Fire Engulfs Vacant Home In Glenview

The Glenview Fire Department was joined by other fire companies in putting out the fire early Friday morning.

GLENVIEW, IL — A fully-involved fire engulfed an abandoned and vacant two-story house early Friday morning in Glenview. The Glenview Fire Department was called to the 2200 block of Sanders Road at 12:49 a.m. after the fire was seen and called in by a passerby.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the structure fire was fully involved and defensive fire operations began by applying water from the exterior. The fire was extinguished within an hour of arrival. Crews remained on scene until approximately 3 a.m. to manage and extinguish any remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
