Friends of Youth Services Launches Inaugural 'Hoops for Hope' Competition In Glenview
The competition invites community members to participate in men's and women's basketball bracket challenges to support local youth.
GLENVIEW, IL — Though February has just begun, it's not too early to start thinking about March Madness next month, especially when there's a chance to help a local organization while watching all the great basketball.
Friends of Youth Services has announced the launch of its inaugural "Hoops for Hope March Bracket Challenge." The event is a competition designed to benefit Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook. Community members and sports fans are invited to participate in the challenge.
Participants can enter brackets for both the college basketball men's and women's tournaments. Each bracket entry costs $20. Unlimited entries are permitted, allowing people to submit multiple brackets to increase their chances of winning, according to the volunteer organization. The competition aims to engage participants while supporting a local cause.

Founded in 1972, Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook assists local children and adolescents with their mental health, as well as providing emotional and social support services. With its promise to never turn anyone away from services based on ability to pay, the organization believes every child should grow up happy, healthy and with hope. The agency's mission is to foster the social and emotional well-being of all children and youth.
According to Friends of Youth Services, up to 50 percent of the total proceeds generated from the "Hoops for Hope March Bracket Challenge" will be awarded as prizes. First, second, and third-place winners will be selected in both the men's and women's tournaments. Cash prizes are capped for each winning tier: first place receives 25 percent of funds raised for the specific bracket entered, up to $1,000; second place receives 15 percent, up to $500; and third place receives 10 percent, up to $250.

All remaining net proceeds will directly support Youth Services programs. These programs are designed to empower, support, and uplift young people within the community.
The inaugural event seeks to combine the excitement of March basketball with community support for youth services. The organization encourages individuals to sign up and join the challenge. The Friends of Youth Services aims for this first year to be a memorable event for participants and beneficiaries.
