Glenview Chamber Honors Local Business, Owner

The Glenview Chamber of Commerce honored its Business Person of the Year and Business of the Year on Friday, recognizing a pair of local family businesses.

Larry Carlson, owner of Carlson’s Heating and Cooling who once served as village president and president of the chamber, was named the 2014 Business Person of the Year. The business is nearing its 60th anniversary.

Weiss Ace Hardware, which began in Evanston in 1931 and moved to Glenview nearly 30 years later, was recognized as the Business of the Year. Since their move to Glenview, the business has expanded to become more than double its original size.
