The Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St., will host its sixth annual Quilt Auction on Saturday, October 24 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This year’s goal is to raise $75,000 with all proceeds benefiting Heifer International Nepal. Join fellow quilt lovers and bid on more than 100 beautiful quilts - - new and old - - donated by individuals from across the country. There will also be quilts and hand crafted items available for purchase. The admission is free to attend and $5 for each bid card.
“We are thrilled with the positive response and the number of quilts donated this year,” commented co-chair, Audrey Veath. “We look forward to raising money that will directly help the people in Nepal who were affected by the devastating mega earthquake this past April.”

In response to the mega earthquake of April 25, 2015, and its aftershocks, Heifer International Nepal, in coordination with Nepal’s District Disaster Relief Committees (DDRCs), provided relief support to more than 22,000 earthquake victims in 13 districts. Heifer continues to help local communities rebuild livelihoods in Nepal. In May, Heifer’s earthquake relief efforts in Nepal began giving way to activities focused on recovery projects. These efforts will ensure participants are in more stable shelters where they can securely store belongings, including grains and other foodstuffs, and also escape the heavy monsoon rains that typically last from June through September.
