Glenview Cops Respond to Several Car Burglaries

Six incidents of burglaries to motor vehicles have been reported over the last week.

Glenview police have responded to six calls of burglaries to motor vehicles over the past week, four which were reported the morning of November 3 and two others reported on November 8. A variety of items were reported stolen in the incidents.

Police first responded to the 1000 block of Arbor Lane at 4:59 a.m. on November 3, when a resident described seeing a man wearing a light-colored jeans gray hoodie and sweatshirt in their car while it was parked in the driveway.

“The resident turned on a light and shouted at him and he entered a dark colored van and left the area going southbound,” according to the report, which indicated valuables worth $210 were stolen in the incident.

Later that day, police responded to three other burglary to motor vehicle calls, including one in which a wallet was stolen from the 900 block of East Glenwood Road, another where a GPS unit was taken from another car on the same street and a third in which an I-pad and backpack containing a laptop were taken from the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard.

On November 8, police responded to the 2000 block of Henley Street, where a pair of sunglasses were reported stolen from an unlocked car and to the 2300 block of Dewes Street, where a chainsaw was taken from another unlocked vehicle.

Police did not indicate whether or not they believe the incidents are connected.
