Glenview Drops Out of LPA, Goes Back to ComEd
Village board votes unanimously to switch electricity aggregation beginning in June.

GLENVIEW, IL - The Lakeshore Power Alliance took another hit last week when village of Glenview trustees voted unanimously to drop out of the four-municipality program created in 2012 and return their electric service back to ComEd after the May billing cycle.
Northfield and Kenilworth have already voted to discontinue their part in the LPA, according to the Chicago Tribune and Wilmette is also expected to do so this month. The four communities agreed to hire MC Squared Energy Services of Chicago as their electricity aggregator.
Glenview’s decision to drop out was due to ComEd acquiring greater flexibility to buy power and the ability to lower its rates no longer guaranteed by the consortium.
Residents may still enter a contract with other services, but will be defaulted to ComEd beginning June 1.
