Glenview Holding Special Meeting Regarding Former Bess Hardware Site
The Village Board is meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday to consider an extension of the closing date for the property at 1850 Glenview Road.

GLENVIEW, IL — A special meeting is planned for Thursday night to discuss the former Bess Hardware site at 1850 Glenview Road. According to officials, the Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Burnham Board Room at Village Hall.
The trustees will consider an extension of the closing date for the property, according to a news release. The Board had previously extended the closing date to July 31 to allow The Drake Group extra time to coordinate with lenders and facilitate the closing. Drake is now requesting additional time to close. If the Board approves the extension, the new closing date will be Sept. 29.
Drake is proposing to build a 65-unit, mixed-use development. Drake would proceed with the applicable building and engineering codes and permit process following the closing.
