Glenview was rated among the best Illinois cities for jobs by a personal finance website that looked at 162 communities in the state.

The village was ranked No. 14 by WalletHub, which compared cities across metrics in two key areas, job market and socioeconomic environment. In those individual areas, Glenview was 21st in job market and 28th in socioeconomic environment.

The website also rated the best and worst Illinois cities in specific jobs-related categories. Among those, Glenview made the list of top 5 cities with the highest employment growth. The village was ranked No. 2 on that list.

WalletHub selected cities based on population and available data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and other agencies. The site also excluded surrounding metro areas—in this case, Chicago—from its analysis.
