Charles A. Rubey, Jr., age 88 of Glenview, IL. Beloved husband of Therese Brown Rubey nee Pinto and the late Catherine Rubey nee Whalen. Loving father of John Roger (Donna), Maureen Frain, Patrick (Diane), Thomas (Eileen), Michael (Pamela), Janet (Timothy) Kane, Brian Rubey and the late Deborah (Brian (Carolyn)) Fetzer. Cherished stepfather of Victoria (Cary) Newell, Valerie (Anthony) Lazzaroni, Vivienne (Mark) Lato and Edward (Diana) Brown. Dearest grandfather of Melissa, Andrew, Roger, Timothy, Molly (Michael), Matthew (Dayna), Charles (Elizabeth), Catherine, Daniel, Mollie, Casey, Abigail, Jennifer (John Paul), Brian (Nicole), Megan, Brittany, Kathryn, Christopher, John, Nora, Maureen, James, Morgan, Blake, Charles, Michael, Megan, Brian, Sean, Finnian, Brock, Bryce (Jennifer), Brenna, Anthony, Alexandra, Mark, Christi, Luke, Mary, Grace, Gwenyth, Gillian and Edward. Proud great-grandfather of Charles, Brayden, Graham, Brooks, Brody, Joey and Catherine. Fond brother of the late Marguerite (the late Frank) Carey, Leora (the late Dr. John) O’Donoghue and Joseph (the late Gay).
Charley’s large family was the center of a life that also included many individual accomplishments, including military service in the US Navy. He lived his faith as an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
He also enjoyed helping the children of Misericordia and was a faithful parishioner of St. Barnabas and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Professionally, he earned the title of Sales VP for a large paper company and dedicated more than 40 years to the sales profession.
He was a dear friend and mentor to many.

Funeral Gathering Thursday, June 11, 2015, 8:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Procession 9:30 a.m. from Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd at Old Orchard Rd, Skokie, IL 60077 to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St, Glenview, IL 60025.
Mass 10:00 am.
Interment Calvary Cemetery, Evanston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sister Paulanne’s Needy Family Fund, 1775 Grove St, Glenview, IL 60025, would be appreciated.
