Glenview Obituary: Vincent Louis Inserra, 92

Vincent Louis Inserra age 92 of Glenview. Beloved husband for 62 years to Marilyn Inserra nee Traweek; loving father of Thomas (Arlene), Paul (Janet), and Christine Inserra ; dear friend of Chris Ellicott; proud grandfather of Katie (Jon) Tofilon, Sarah (Zach) Lee and Rebecca Inserra; great grandfather of Sofia, Samuel and Norah Tofilon, Austin and Adrienne Lee; dear brother of Jean (John) Boudreau, Terry (the late Hank) Basile, Marie (David) Provost, and the late Joseph (Gerry) Inserra; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews

Vince was a navy flyer during WWII achieving the rank of Lieutenant as a torpedo bomber. He continued to serve his country as an FBI agent for 25 years fighting organized crime. He had a second career as the Director of Internal Security at Kemper Insurance for 27 years, retiring at the age of 80. At the age of 91, Vince authored a book entitled, “C-1 and the Chicago Mob” chronicling his life’s work.
