Glenview Politicians Denounce Leaked Supreme Court Abortion Ruling
Politico, citing a draft opinion of a coming ruling, is reporting the 1973 Supreme Court Roe v. Wade ruling will be struck down.

GLENVIEW, IL — A number of local politicians are condemning a leaked Supreme Court ruling that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
“In this day and age, it is unconscionable that women would be denied reproductive rights," said State Senator Laura Fine (D-Glenview) said Tuesday in a statement. "I will fight to ensure women do not go backwards and our fundamental rights are protected."
Fine represents the 9th District in the state senate. She is running unopposed in November's general election.

“The possibility that Roe v. Wade will be overturned represents the greatest threat to reproductive rights and bodily autonomy that we have seen in decades," State Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz (D-Glenview) said in a statement. "Roe is the foundation upon which reproductive rights have been built and destroying that foundation threatens to topple so much of the hard-fought progress made in the last 50 years.”
Gong-Gershowitz represents the 17th District in the Illinois House of Representatives. She will face Republican challenger Bradley Martin in November's General Election.
