Glenview Teen Takes Racing Dreams to England

Jason Pribyl sets sights on international racing stage with United Formula Ford Series

18-year-old Glenview, IL native, and race car driver Jason Pribyl is brushing up on his King’s English as he prepares to travel to the United Kingdom for a season of racing. Pribyl will build on last year’s US Formula 1600 and Spec Racer Ford success by racing United Formula Ford with PWR1 (Phill Wills Racing) and factory support from Gavin Ray and Ray Race Cars.

Jason will be driving number 59 factory backed Ray F1600 throughout his United Formula Ford campaign, which will start with races at the world famous F1 track in Silverstone in April. The season will consist of eight weekends of two races at world-renowned tracks. He is tentatively planning on running the prestigious Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hays Trophy races to cap off the season.

Phil Wills: "We are super excited to have Jason coming over from the United States to race with us this year. He comes highly recommended, and we can't wait to get started."

Owner of Ray Race Cars, Gavin Ray, said, “When Phill told me Jason was coming to race for him I knew Jason would need a car that was on par with his abilities”

Jason has over a decade of racing experience, starting at 6 years old in karts, and has progressed to racing sports cars and formula cars throughout the US. This last year Pribyl was selected as one of four finalists in the 2023 Team USA Scholarship and finished 2nd in the SCCA Northern Majors in Spec Racer Ford. “Racing in the UK is a big step but I’m ready for it. To be surrounded by people who had a hand in the careers of some of the greatest drivers is really exciting,” Jason said.
