Grant Program Honors Legacy Of Beck In Glenview

Judy Beck passed away in June 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

GLENVIEW, IL — The Glenview Park District recently announced the first annual Judy Beck Grant program in memory of Grant’s environmental legacy in Glenview and 32-year service as park board commissioner.

The grant program will offer $5,000 in annual grants available to non-profit groups or individuals with projects focusing on environmental conservation, sustainability, community engagement or youth development. The Judy Beck Grant service area includes the state of Illinois, with preference given to initiatives that benefit the Village of Glenview, Illinois and the North Shore area. The grant program is funded by the Beck and Hurvis families and administered by the park district and the Beck Family Foundation.

  • $5,000 annual grant funding is available for either a single project or multiple smaller awards may be given.
  • To apply, an organization or individual needs to complete an application.

— Projects submitted need to be well-defined and have quantifiable goals that promote one or more of the following: environmental conservation, sustainability, community engagement or youth development. Application deadline is Dec. 18. Award notifications are expected after Jan. 1, 2021.
