Forbes Magazine compiled list that includes Northbrook's Village Manager at No. 3.

A recent Forbes Magazine study shows Glenview Village Manager Lawrence Hileman as the highest paid municipal employee in Illinois, topping a list that included a number of smaller town administrators with a pensionable salary of $292,124.

From the data compiled by Adam Andrzjewski of OpenTheBooks.com, the Journal & Topics points out Hileman makes more money than every governor in the state of the union and has the sixth-highest pensionable salary in the Illinois Municipal Fund (IMRF) system.

Glenview Village President Jim Patterson defended Hileman’s pay, saying Hileman’s many initiatives saved Glenview taxpayers a great deal of money.
