1 Dead After Multi-Car Crash Shuts Down I-294 Near Willow In Glenview
Two people were taken to Lutheran General Hospital Tuesday morning, while nine others were treated for injuries at the scene.
GLENVIEW, IL — A multi-car accident on Interstate 294 (Tri-State Tollway) caused major delays throughout the day Tuesday near Willow Road in Glenview. Illinois State Police told Patch one person sustained life-threatening injuries, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
At least five to six cars were involved in the accident, along with a car hauler and semi-truck. Two people were taken to the hospital, including the deceased. The others sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were released at the scene.
According to ISP, the accident happened at around 6:02 a.m. All southbound lanes of Interstate 294 near Willow Road were closed for the investigation for nearly seven hours, police said, reopening at around 1:25 p.m. Southbound traffic was being diverted to Willow Road.

The Glenview Fire Department also responded to the scene at around 6 a.m. Firefighters arrived at the scene and found seven vehicles involved in the accident, with 11 total patients.
An investigation continues by Illinois State Police.
