International Grocer To Open at Milwaukee and Central

Development near busy intersection has been stalled since before the recession. JB Mart could spur more business in Glenview.

The retail development at Milwaukee Avenue and Central Road that’s been sought for nearly a decade in Glenview is finally taking shape.

JB Mart will house an international grocery store highlighting Asian foods beginning the summer, the Glenview Announcements reports.

“Village officials said the development could feature retail stores, services and offices.”

Don Owen, village deputy manager, said the site’s location fits well into the Milwaukee Avenue Corridor Plan which was adopted in 2007 as a “way to recruit and review commercial improvements along tree-lined Milwaukee Avenue.”

Thus far, 11 businesses have opened.
