Investigation Into Gunshots In Glenview Leads To Charges

Buffalo Grove, Morton Grove men accused of being involved in July incident on Waukegan Road.

GLENVIEW, IL — A two-month investigation into a report of gunshots being fired in the 24oo block of Waukegan Road in Glenview has led to the arrests of two men accused of being involved.

Jose L. Bautista, 28, of the 300 block of Lincoln Terrace, Buffalo Grove, is accused of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, criminal damage to property, having a warrant out for his arrest from the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department, and was arrested at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday at his home. Eddie Castrejon, 27, of the 7100 block of Beckwith Lane, Morton Grove, is accused of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, criminal damage to property, and was arrested at his residence at around the same time as Bautista.

The Glenview Police Department was assisted by police from Buffalo Grove, Morton Grove, and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Services Team. Both men were taken into custody without incident, according to a press release from the Glenview Police Department.

The investigation began July 7 after Glenview police received a report of shots being fired on Waukegan Road.

Bond hearings for both men are scheduled for Friday.
