Jackman Bear Decked Out in Blackhawks Jersey Following Cup Win

The park sculpture has been supporting Chicago teams in the playoffs for nearly a decade.

Glenview’s Jackman Bear is wearing a jersey in celebration of the Chicago Blackhawks bringing home the Stanley Cup Monday night.

The sculpture first became a sports fan in 2007 when the Chicago Bears competed in the Super Bowl. Sullivan made the Chicago Bears helmet out of chicken wire and tailored a Chicago Bears jersey. Honing his technique ever since, the bear’s current outfit is a tailored Blackhawks jersey and a custom face mask designed by Park District Maintenance Supervisor Mike Sullivan.
