Lend a Helping Hand with your Backhand at the 19th Annual Court the Cure Tennis Tournament

The North Shore Women’s Platform Tennis League (NSWPTL) will proudly host its 19th annual Court the Cure fundraiser on Thursday, September 24. Approximately 300 players are expected to participate in the Platform Tennis themed fundraiser taking place at clubs across the North Shore and western suburbs, including Birchwood Country Club, Green Acres, Evanston Golf Club, Northmoor, Sunset Ridge, Valley Lo Sports Club and the Wilmette Park District. This year’s event will also include an exciting Pro-Am component at the Winnetka Platform Tennis Club courts. Since its inception, the event has raised nearly $150,000 for leading-edge breast cancer research at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore).

All proceeds from Court the Cure will support breast cancer research initiatives led by Katharine Yao, MD, Director of the Breast Surgical Program at NorthShore. The funds will support a 3D modeling project to allow for early detection of lymphedema in breast cancer patients. This dynamic research at NorthShore will help to ensure early detection and more effective treatments for many generations to come.
