Library Drive-Up Window Opens Monday

Plans to reopen the Glenview Public Library building to patrons and expand services continue to evolve.

GLENVIEW, IL — The Glenview Public Library's drive-up window and book drop will open on Monday with limited hours and services.

Pick Up Items

Residents can place items on hold by phone or online through the Library catalog. Currently, holds can only be placed on items owned by the Glenview Public Library. Residents will be notified when your materials are ready for pick-up.

The drive-up window will be open during the following hours:
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday
  • Noon-8 p.m. Wednesday
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday
Return Items

The Library will begin accepting returns during designated times at the curbside book drop. Only materials that do not fit through the slots of the curbside book drop can be returned at the drive-up window. Items must be quarantined for seven days before staff can handle them. Fines will not accrue during the quarantine.

Plans to reopen the building to patrons and expand services continue to evolve and will align with Governor Pritzker's Restore Illinois model, according to the Glenview Public Library. Visit glenviewpl.org/coronavirus for updates.

While the library's been closed...
Since the building has been closed to patrons, staff have been busy managing the Library's renovation project. When it reopens, patrons will discover:

  • New carpeting throughout the first floor
  • The Marketplace, a special area for browsing new, popular, and high-demand materials
  • The Innovation Center, the Library's new makerspace

In addition, a much-needed parking lot remediation project is currently underway and on schedule to be completed before the building reopens to patrons, according to the Glenview Public Library.
