New program with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

MaineStay offers new free student mentoring program
A new mentoring program for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students offered in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters will begin Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. This free on-site mentoring program will meet twice a month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and is designed to help young people take positive steps toward academic and future success.
Open to the first 20 students who are accepted, the program will foster positive one-on-one relationships with a caring adult in a safe and structured group setting. “We are excited to be making final preparations for the launch of this outstanding program during National Mentoring Month,” says Richard Lyon, Director of MaineStay Youth & Family Services. “This program will have a lasting impact on students’ lives as they enhance their social skills, confidence, and ability to avoid risky behavior while enjoying fun and engaging activities in a supportive environment.”
Space is limited and the application deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 10. For more information or to apply, visit www.mainetownship.com or contact Anne Camarano at 847-297-2510 x272 or acamarano@mainetown.com.
