Mitzvah Day 2015

A full day of interfaith service hosted by B'Chavana Jewish Congregation and Midwest CareCenter

Mitzvah Day 2015, a special day of interfaith service, will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, with several activities at additional locations. The event will be a full day of free services and volunteer activities to benefit local community, including “Ask a Lawyer,” where participants can bring legal questions, and “Five Wishes Workshop” on living wills. In addition, Mitzvah Day seeks volunteers for the following activities: donating blood to LifeSource; making fleece blankets for Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter patients; knitting or crocheting preemie and chemo caps for premature infants and cancer patients, as well as scarves for victims of human trafficking; cleaning up Cuba Marsh in Lake Zurich; donating items for The ARK, Orphans of the Storm, PADS and WINGS and delivering items to The ARK; and performing for elderly residents of Council for Jewish Elderly and Robineau Residence for Seniors in Skokie.
