More Than $8,000 In Items Stolen From Car, Three Charged Over Identity Thefts: Glenview Crime
Glenview Police Blotter: June 27 - July 3

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT
On June 29 at 10 p.m., an employee in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported someone took 3 bottles of wine from a cooler in the store and left the store without paying for it. The reported loss was $100. Also on June 29 at 10 p.m., an employee in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported another person took a bottles of wine from a cooler in the store and left the store without paying for it. The reported loss from that incident was $30. Two people were arrested in connection with a theft at the location (see arrests below).
THEFT
Shortly before 2 p.m. on June 29, a patron in the 3600 block of Glenview Road reported a telephone was stolen for a reported loss of $1,000.
TRESPASS
On June 29 at 1:53 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of Blackthorn reported someone entering their back yard without permission.
THEFT
On June 29 at 4:07 p.m., an employee in the 4300 block of Regency Drive reported someone made a purchase on a stolen credit card for a reported loss of $600.
RETAIL THEFT
On June 30 at 4:36 a.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported two men took $2,7000 worth of dental, antacid and probiotics products and left the store without paying.

BURGLARY
On June 30 at 10:23 a.m., a patron in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone used a tool to punch out locks and removed items from their vehicle. The reported loss from the incident was over $8,000.
IDENTITY THEFT
On June 30 at 1:06 p.m., a resident in the 2200 Phillips Drive reported someone had gained access to their bank account and withdrew more than $3,000.
RETAIL THEFT
On June 30 at 1:39 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive someone left the store without paying for clothing for a reported loss of $20.
RETAIL THEFT
On June 30 at 8:52 a.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported someone entered the business, loaded merchandise into a bag and left without paying. The reported loss was $1,000.
RETAIL THEFT
On June 30 at 5:33 p.m., an employee in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone entered the store, removed merchandise from the shelf and left the store without paying for a reported loss of $650.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On July 1 at 9:01 a.m., a resident in the 1400 block of Glenview Road reported someone damaged landscape decorations, doing a reported $100 in damage.
SOLICITOR COMPLAINT
On July 1, at 3:50 p.m., a resident in the 1700 block of Ridgewood Lane reported someone was soliciting without a village permit.
THEFT
On July 1 at 5:18 p.m., a resident in the 1500 block of Canterbury Lane reported someone removed jewelry from their residence. The reported loss is over $3,000.
SOLICITOR COMPLAINT
On July 1 at 6:45 p.m., a resident in the 1500 block of Blackthorn Drive reported someone was soliciting without a village permit. A 29-year-old Los Angeles, California man was issued a village ordinance citation for soliciting without a permit after being previously warned.
RETAIL THEFT
On July 1 at 11:01 p.m., an employee in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported someone removed merchandise from the store without paying for the items. The amount of loss was not immediately clear.
THEFT
On July 2 at 3:42 p.m., a patron in the 1900 block of Glenview Road reported someone stole an unlocked bike from the bike rack. The reported loss is $200.

THEFT
On July 2 at 7:19 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of Pickwick Lane reported someone took an unattended bike from the front of their residence. The reported loss is $270.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On July 2 at 8:22 p.m., an employee in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported being threatened by a customer.
BURGLARY
On July 2 at 9:11 p.m., an employee in the 100 block of Park Drive reported someone broke into the building and discharged a fire extinguisher. The reported loss is $150.00
TRESPASS
On July 3 at 11:25 a.m., an employee in the 3000 block of Woodridge Drive reported someone entered the property without authorization and broke a lounge chair. The reported loss is $20.
RETAIL THEFT
On July 3 at 1:46 p.m., an employee in the 2400 block of Sanders Road reported someone stole ‘vaping’ equipment from the store. The reported loss is $125.
RETAIL THEFT
Robert Kowalski, 35, of the 5200 block of West Drummond Place in Chicago, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. on June 26 and charged with retail theft after an investigation in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
RETAIL THEFT
Michael Fronczak, 41, of the 4500 block of North Narragansett Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft in the 100 block of Waukegan Road at 10 p.m. on June 29.
RETAIL THEFT
Robin Ontiveros, 46, of the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive, was arrested and charged with retail theft in the 100 block of Waukegan Road at 10 p.m. on June 29.
LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT
Juan Catalan, 22, of the 1000 block of 10th Street in Northfield, was arrested shortly before 9:30 a.m. on June 30 and charged with for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give information, failure to report an accident, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the 1800 block of Landwehr Road after an investigation into a vehicle crash that occurred at Charlie Court and Willow Road.
RETAIL THEFT
William Batista Medina, 38, of the 3000 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue in Chicago, was arrested on June 30 at 1:40 p.m. and charged with retail theft in the 1900 block of Tower Drive after exiting a business with a bottle of cologne valued at $112 without paying for it.
NO VALID LICENSE
Tuvshintugs Otgontugs, 20, of the 500 block of East Circle Hill Drive in Arlington Heights, was arrested shortly before 10:30 p.m. on June 30 and charged with no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in the 2400 block of Sanders Road after an investigation into a vehicle crash that occurred at Willow Road and Sanders Road.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Lubomir Velkov, 64, of the 3700 block of Salem Walk in Northbrook was arrested on July 1 at 8:47 p.m. in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic battery.
IDENTITY THEFT
Erick Burton, 40, of the 16500 block of Honore Avenue in Markham, was arrested at 3 a.m. on July 3 on his block of residence by Markham PD for an original warrant issued by Glenview Police Department in 2015. Burton was transported back to the Glenview Police Department where he was processed and charged with one count of aggravated identity theft.

IDENTITY THEFT
Nofisat Gazal, 36, of the 1400 block of Touhy Avenue in Chicago,, was arrested at the O-Hare Oasis on the Illinois Toll road around 7:45 p.m. on July 2 after being stopped by a state trooper who discovered she had a warrant for identity theft issued by the Glenview Police Department back in 2009. Glenview police took custody of Gazal from state police and processed her at the Glenview station.

RETAIL THEFT
Iryna Bobalo, 59, of the 10400 block of North Magnolia Drive in Mequon, Wisconsin, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on July 2 in the 2200 block of Willow Road and charged with retail theft under $300.00.
RETAIL THEFT
Nina Shyshkina, 61, of the 2300 block of Congressional Lane in Riverwoods, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on July 2 in the 2200 block of Willow Road and charged with retail theft under $300.00.
IDENTITY THEFT
Andre Almore, 44, of the 1700 block of North Major Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:42 p.m. on July 4 and charged with identity theft after he presented a driver’s license and forged documents using someone else’s name when purchasing audio equipment in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
