My New Year Wish

If the Lord of the Universe

Would whisper in my ear

That He will grant me

A wish for this New Year

My heart will be beat with joy

My eyes will shine with tears

For those things will look so near

That I have dreamt from year to year

But I wonder what will that wish

That thing in life

I most desperately miss

Will I wish to be a man who is

Rich, famous, and wealthy

Or be a man who is

Smart, strong, and healthy

Will I wish for a castle

On the most beautiful land

Or the most beautiful woman

To hold my hand

But before I make this wish

I will think of you

And the moment I think of you

Nothing will mean more to me

Than to put a smile on you

I will give this wish to you

And ask the Lord of the Universe

To make your dream come true

And the day your dream comes true

From a distance I will look at you

When you will smile and laugh

With the loved ones so near to you

A little far from you

My heart will also smile with you

And before you can take any notice

I will slowly walk away from you.
