New Boutique Clothing Store Opens In The Glen Town Center

The response has been "positive and supportive" to the new Glenview shop, which sells no more than 6 of any item, says its Deerfield owner.

GLENVIEW, IL — There's a new option for shoppers looking for unique styles that won't break the bank, as the new shop Apricot Lane has opened up at The Glen Town Center. The boutique provides women of all ages with high-quality, trendy clothing, accessories, shoes and more – without breaking the bank, according to owner and Deerfield resident Rachel Schechter.

Apricot Lane The Glen only gets six items of each style, so when items fly off the shelf they're never re-ordered, Schechter said.

“We order merchandise and receive shipments on a daily basis so new items are constantly arriving,” Schechter said. “The customers love knowing that their friends won’t be wearing the same style.”

Her new shop has received a fantastic reception since its opening last month, Schecter told Patch.

"Our experience has been great thus far. The community has been so positive and supportive," she said. "We have met so many local people who live in The Glen or close by, and they all seem to love our friendly staff, affordable prices, and array of different trends and styles."

Schechter said the store's proximity to other stores in the Glen make it a "one-stop shopping location," as people walk in with bags from other nearby stores.

Apricot Lane boutiques are independently owned franchises that carry clothing lines and styles catering to their own community. Schechter said she's excited to show off national vendors and selected local vendors at the shop. Some of the popular brands available include Flying Monkey, Just Black, Lush, Elan and Everly, along with up-and-comers including Promesa, Black Swan and others.

Apricot Lane makes a point of offering product lines that give back to those in need.

"We are very proud of our charitable brands. We have several different jewelry organizations that help provide safety, education and support for those that have been less fortunate including victims of sex-trafficking, and children born into poverty," Schechter said.

Some of the socially conscious brands carried by Apricot Lane at the Glen include Good Works, which provide educational enrichment programs, UR Bath, which supports homeless women and Rock and Ramble, a necklace brand supporting music education in schools.

And all profits from 3Strands bracelets, made by Cambodian girls who've escaped human trafficking, go to support survivors and teach, empower and employ young women.
