New Japanese Restaurant Opens in Glenview
Fish on Fire is already getting high praise from area residents.

Fish on Fire, a new Japanese restaurant in Glenview, celebrated its ribbon cutting this week at their 1615 Milwaukee Ave. #135 location.
It is the first restaurant owned by B.J. Sung, who said a soft opening was held December 13, with nearly two months of making sure everything was ready for the grand celebration.
“We felt like we were ready, and are now glad we have opened this to serve the people in Glenview and other towns nearby as well,” Sung said, who felt that a Japanese sushi and teppanyaki restaurant that also serves fresh seafood and high quality Certified Angus beef was “needed” in Glenview.

The restaurant’s menu stays true to Authentic Japanese food, but also serves guests with a variety of options, such as Filet Mignon and Korean BBQ, when they are craving something slightly different.
“We are excited to welcome this new restaurant to Glenview, an after sampling many of their offering at their grand opening, I can say that the food is fantastic, wine is delicious and we see great success in their future,” said Glenview Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Betsy Baer, who felt the fare was so good she and her Chamber team planned on heading over the the new eatery for lunch two days after their opening.

The restaurant has proved to be a major appealing element to this new, bustling food spot. Fish on Fire has four main areas, an open Teppanyaki section with plenty of walking space, a cozy lunch/dinner area for a romantic setting with beautiful art and hanging exposed light, a chill and sophisticated lounge area with button tufted sofas to enjoy a cocktail or two, and a circular bar that has great views of the flat screen TVs.
Great food and great atmosphere makes it worth a try for sure.
“People have already come by and complimented us on how good the food is and said they loved the atmosphere too,” Sung said.
A recent Yelp! review helps make his point.
