New Swenson Park Batting Cages Give Glenview Softball Players A Boost
The Titans and Glenview Park Foundation each contributed $11,000 to give girls softball players dedicated batting practice facilities.
GLENVIEW, IL — Girls softball players in Glenview now have dedicated batting cages at Swenson Park, closing a longstanding gap between the practice facilities available to local softball and baseball players.
Glenview Park District announced the completed project Thursday after celebrating its opening with an Oct. 21 ribbon-cutting. Swenson Park is home to the Glenview Titans Fastpitch Association.
Boys baseball players have had access to batting cages at Community Park West for years, according to the district. The new cages give Titans players a comparable space to work on their hitting and prepare for games.

The park district partnered with the Glenview Park Foundation and Glenview Titans Fastpitch Association to fund the improvement.
The Titans and foundation each contributed $11,000 toward the new facilities. The batting cages were included in the Swenson Park Master Plan, which was developed with community input and approved by the Park Board in November 2024.
Their final location, near the park's basketball court and skatepark, reflects feedback from neighboring residents, according to the district.
Founded in 1996, the Glenview Park Foundation is a nonprofit that supports park district programs, facilities and special events.
