Newborn Baby Found Abandoned In Glenview: Police
The baby was taken to Lutheran General Hospital and is in stable condition.

GLENVIEW, IL — A newborn baby was found abandoned at a rehabilitation center Monday in Glenview, according to police. Both the Glenview police and fire departments responded to the center at 3 p.m. in the 1500 block of Greenwood Road. The baby was transported to Lutheran General Hospital and is in stable condition.
The mother was found and is also in stable condition at Evanston Hospital, according to a news release. The Glenview Police Department, with the assistance from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, is investigating the incident.
Illinois's Safe Haven Law establishes safe places where parents can relinquish newborn infants. The purpose of the Safe Haven Law is to prevent babies from being abandoned in places where they may come to harm. Illinois's law allows parents 30 days to physically place the baby into the arms of a staff member at a police station, firehouse or medical facility. The baby in Glenview was found at a rehabilitation center, which is not included under the Safe Haven Law.
