North Shore Obituary: Chris Scumas, 90
A visitation and funeral service will take place Monday in Glenview.

Chris Scumas of Savannah Georgia, died Wednesday February 18, 2015 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Helen Scumas nee Dervech; dear brother of Calliope Scumas, loving father of Daphne (Gus) Alexander, Maria (Joseph) Friedman and Stephanie Harvey; cherished grandfather of William (Jamie), Chris and Alexis Alexander, Nina and Peter Friedman, Nicole and Julia Harvey; great-grandfather of Sophia. Chris was a chemical engineer in the petroleum industry, eventually retiring from Amoco/BP. At Amoco he worked, travelled and even lived internationally, spending nearly three years in Dusseldorf, Germany. Chris enjoyed life to the fullest, playing golf year-round. Two particular joys were dancing with his wife Helen and travelling the globe with her. Visitation on Monday February 23, 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 12:00 p.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Rd., Glenview, IL 60025. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 14 W. Anderson Street, Savannah, GA, 31401.
