North Suburban YMCA Welcomes the Community to Its Annual “Fall Fest”
Free to the community the event will be held on October 22 and includes a Trunk or Treat
Northbrook, IL; October 2023; The entire community is invited to the North Suburban YMCA’s Fall Fest for a day of family fun, games, and music. This free event will be held on Sunday, October 22 from 1 to 3 pm at the NSYMCA located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook. IL.
Fall Fest features include entertainment and activities for all ages including bounce houses, carnival food, kids Halloween crafts, costume contest and live music. New this year, the Y will have their first Trunk or Treat which will be located in the Y’s large parking area. Families and kids are encouraged to come dressed in costumes and “Trick or Treat!” The “Trunk or Treat” participants will have games, decorate their cars and pass out packaged candy. There will be a costume contest for children under the age of 13 and a “Most Creative Vehicle” Contest where you will get a trophy and prizes. The live music includes Bach to Rock Bands from 1 to 2 pm followed by The Invaders with Peter Corasis, lead singer and guitarist, Adam Leutkemeyer, guitarist, and Seamus Hardt, drummer from 2 to 3 pm. Water, popcorn and other concessions will be available at Fall Fest but outside food and drinks are not allowed. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the live music on the side lawn of the Y.
“Free events like Fall Fest show the community that our Y is back serving families in a safe environment,” said Kim Nyren, NSYMCA Director of Community Investments and Events. “Our Y is committed to strengthening our community, and hope that the new trunk or treat activity brings multigenerational families, whether they participate by either decorating cars and passing out candy, or bringing their kids in costumes to enjoy the fun.”

The NSYMCA ensures everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y. The Y never turns anyone away due to the inability to pay. Proceeds from sponsorships and vendor participation help support free community events like Fall Fest, as well as support financial aid for families in need.
The NSYMCA’s “Fall Fest” 2023 sponsors include Allstate, Bach to Rock, The Daily Herald, Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, Midwest Center for Brain Health, Warren Barr Northshore, Wintrust Community Banks & Waterway Carwash. Many vendors will also be in attendance, passing out candy and showcasing their business and services.
