Perfume Thieves Flee Retail Store: Glenview Police Blotter

The duo also reportedly stole clothes from the business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive, according to police.

Jaime Sanchez Arellano, 28, of the 10000 block of Holly Lane, Des Plaines, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, no insurance, and was arrested at 11:22 p.m June 30, in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Police said Arellano also had a valid outstanding warrant out of Cook County. He was released on bond.

Mario Ramirez, 49, of the 1700 block of Pickwick Lane, Glenview, is accused of leaving the scene of a property damage crash, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:46 a.m. June 26, following the investigation of a traffic crash in the 2900 block of Old Willow Road. He was released on bond.

INCIDENTS

NO DRIVER'S LICENSE

A Chicago resident was cited at 4:20 p.m. June 26, for no driver's license, failure to wear a seat belt, following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin resident reported at 12:10 p.m. June 27, someone stole a concrete saw from a pickup truck that was parked in the 600 block of Arbor Lane.
  • A Fishers, Indiana resident called police to report that between May 25 and June 28, someone removed the catalytic converter from under their vehicle, which was parked in a parking lot in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue.
  • The owner of a business in the 2800 block of Old Willow Road reported that between June 27 and June 28, someone stole the catalytic converter from under a company truck while it was parked in the parking lot.
  • An owner of a business in the 2300 block of Ridge Road called police to report that between June 27 and June 28, someone stole the catalytic converter from under a company truck while the truck was parked in the parking lot.
  • The owner of a business in the 2800 block of Old Willow Road called police to report that during the overnight hours of June 28, someone stole the catalytic converters from two work trucks.
  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road called police to report that between July 1 and July 3, someone stole the catalytic converter from underneath a company owned truck parked in the parking lot.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 400 block of Warren Road called police to report that between 1:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. June 27, someone entered their residence through a back door. It was not immediately known if anything was missing from the residence.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • A resident in the 4100 block of Miller Drive reported that during the overnight hours of June 29, someone threw a rock through a garage window.
  • A resident in the 1500 block of Saratoga Lane reported that between 11 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. June 29, someone damaged a wood fence.

THEFT

An owner of a business in the 200 block of Waukegan Road called police to report that between June 1 and June 27, someone stole tools from a toolbox.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Sunset Ridge Road reported at 8:48 a.m. July 1, someone used their information to make an unlawful purchase online. The purchase shipped to an address in Wisconsin.

FORGERY

A Wedel Lane resident reported at 10:51 a.m. July 1, a check mailed at the Glenview U.S. Post Office was intercepted in the mail and cashed to a different person.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive called police at 4:26 p.m. July 2, to report two male subjects stole perfume and clothing items and fled north from the store.
  • An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road called police to report that on June 30 a male stole detergent from the store.

ARSON

The Glenview Fire Department responded to the Flick Park fieldhouse, 3600 Glenview Road, at 10 p.m. July 2, for a fire alarm. Upon arrival, they found damage from fireworks.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A Winnetka resident reported at 8 p.m. July 3, someone stole their vehicle, which was parked unlocked with the keys inside, from a parking lot in the 1300 block of Glenview Road. Recorded video surveillance shows an unknown male subject enter the vehicle and drive it out of the lot.
