PHOTOS: Glenbrook South Celebrates 50 Years Strong

commemorated its 50th anniversary Friday afternoon as students gathered in the school's auditorium to watch a video presentation showcasing footage and images from the school's history. Several notable alumni also recounted their favorite memories from their at time at GBS in the video. 

Among the alumni to take the stage and talk to the students live were musician Jenny Choi, GBS teacher Matt Whipple, teacher Scott Buzzard, and 2008 graduate Hannah Thompson. Students also watched as Principal Brian Wegley presented several objects from a time capsule made by the class of '87 marking the school's 25th anniversary.

"Fifty years ago, Glenbrook South High School had its beginning and it has been sculpted through time ito the institution of excellence that we now proudly celebrate with our golden anniversary," shared Principal Brian Wegley as he spoke during the assembly.
