Regina Dominican Student Newspaper Wins Excellence in Writting Award
The Crown staff earned this awarded for publishing three stories that made the Best of SNO monthly award.

Crown, the student news-magazine of Regina Dominican, was awarded the Excellence in Writing badge for 2014-2015 by School Newspapers Online (SNO). The Crown staff earned this awarded for publishing three stories that made the Best of SNO monthly award.
The most recent article that earned the Best of SNO title was an opinion piece titled, “Barbie: Ultimate Feminist or Unhealthy Role Model?” written by Maggie Palmer (Glenview) and Clare Radler (Winnetka). The piece examined the impact of the Barbie brand on not only body image but also the perception of career opportunities for young girls. Grace Spiewak (Park Ridge) was named Best of SNO in March for her article on Brian Williams and the importance of trust in journalism. The third Best of SNO award was given to a Catherine Murphy (Chicago) for her podcast discussing how high school students feel about minimum wage.
