Shake Shack To Open in Skokie

Shake Shack, a national upscale burger restaurant, plans to open its third Chicago-area restaurant in Westfield Old Orchard Mall by the end of the year, Crain’s Chicago Business reports.

“The restaurant will take over part of the Talbot’s space on the inner portion of the outdoor mall across from Macy’s,” according to Crain’s report. It is known for “burgers, hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries, shakes, frozen custard and never-ending lines.”

Shake Shack has a current location in Chicago’s River North neighborhood and plans to open a second near Millennium Park this year.

“We’ve had a warm welcome in Chicago, and we are excited to deepen our ties in the area,” said Edwin Bragg, the New York-based chain’s spokesman.
