Shir Hadash Offers Children's Program This Friday Night

Please join Shir Hadash this Friday, October 4, for a special children’s program during Shabbat services. Children’s service leader Lauren Shook will conduct a wonderful Shabbat experience for children age four through nine, involving welcoming the Shabbat with candle lighting and challah, prayer, song, dance and a craft project. Parents can enjoy the regular services while their children make the most fun out of Shabbat in the classrooms nearby. Services begin at 7:30 p.m. at Shir Hadash new building, 200 W. Dundee Road, in Wheeling, just west of Milwaukee Avenue.
Shir Hadash Synagogue, a Reconstructionist congregation in Wheeling, Illinois, attracts members from Northbrook, Glenview, Deerfield, Highland Park, Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights and Palatine as well as Chicago, Skokie, Park Ridge, Barrington, and Gurnee. Reconstructionism is a progressive, egalitarian, inclusive movement that makes Judaism relevant to contemporary life, while still honoring Jewish tradition. Shir Hadash is accepting registration to its one-day-a-week (Sundays) religious/Hebrew school. For more information, go to www.shir-hadash.org or call (847) 498-8218.
