Site Plan at The Glen Recommended for Approval

A makeover at The Glen Town Center could be on the way soon.

The Glenview Plan Commission unanimously voted to recommend approval of a final site plan that includes revamped sidewalks, curbs and landscaping along Tower Drive from Aviator Lane to Valor Drive, according to the Glenview Announcements. Bigger signs will also be placed at The Glen’s entrances at Patriot Boulevard and Lake Avenue and Willow Road.

The current streetscape is only 12 years old, but officials have said sidewalks have been damaged by annual freeze/thaw cycles and trees have been “stunted by disease,” the Announcements reported.

The $3 million project will be covered by The Glen Capital Projects Fund TIF district. Tax revenue for two-and-a-half years should pay for the project in its entirety.
