As with nearly every aspect of the Civil War at its beginning, the military intelligence organizations, communication networks, and secret agents didn’t exist on either side. It would be amateurs who rushed to fashion the spy networks and lines of communication that would introduce new technologies for application in espionage work. Join illustrator and Civil War hobbyist Jim Weren in learning about some of the most colorful characters and interesting tales of the Civil War spy network.
