Texter Threatens To Release Nude Photos Of Resident: Glenview Police Blotter

The person told the resident would need to pay $5,500 to prevent it from happening, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Jaebong Shin, 34, of the 600 block of W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence, speeding 26-30 mph over the limit following a traffic stop, and was arrested at 11:57 p.m. April 18, in the 1300 block of East Lake Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of May 20.

PAROLE VIOLATION

Kevin Jamal Nolan, 43, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had a warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a parole violation, and was arrested at 8:23 p.m. April 19, in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue. Following his arrest, Glenview police held him in custody pending pickup by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

THEFT BY DECEPTION

Ramiro Carreno, 52, of the 5100 block of S. Avers Avenue, Chicago, had an arrest warrant out of Glenview for felony charges of theft by deception and use of account number, and was arrested at 11:53 p.m. April 14, by the Berkeley Police Department. He was held in custody pending transport for a April 16 detention hearing.

PROBATION VIOLATION

Judeen Dakin, 27, of the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue, Prospect Heights, had a warrant out of Lake County for a probation violation, and was arrested at 9:47 p.m. April 15, in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was processed and turned over to the Lake County Sheriff's Department.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Yesenia Garcia, 36, of the 5000 block of W. Henderson Street, Chicago, is accused of having no valid driver's license, failure to wear a seatbelt, operating a vehicle while using electronic communication device, and was arrested at 7:25 p.m. April 15, in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of May 19.

INCIDENTS

INTIMIDATION

A Peachgate Court resident reported at 2:13 p.m. April 14, someone had texted a message to their phone saying they would need to pay $5,500 or they would release nude photos of them. They believe their phone is hacked.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

Employees for a business in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported receiving a phone call at the business from a male yelling in Spanish that they would come there and break their face. Extra watch was requested.

FRAUD

A Lizette Lane resident reported at 1:47 p.m. April 16, someone had used their social security number to receive medical care. The victim has a history of
previous identity theft attempts due to a data breach.

THEFT BY DECEPTION

A Northbrook resident reported at 1:12 p.m. April 17, an online company had never delivered an item they had paid for. The complainant has been unable to contact any employees and the website is no longer active. Total loss $8,175.

COMPUTER CRIME

A Fielding Drive resident reported at 1:29 p.m. April 18, that they had filled out personal information on Google Docs for a possible new job. Their information was then used to take over their Google, LinkedIn, and Instagram accounts. The suspect then contacted several of their contacts pretending to be them.

TRESPASS WARNING

Employees of a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:25 p.m. April 17, a customer had not been happy with their order and demanded they be given a refund. The customer
was given a trespass warning not to return.

THEFT

A Mount Prospect resident reported at 10:28 a.m. April 18, someone had stolen their purse in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road while it was left unattended. The total is $1,558.
