Thank You, Glenview

We Look Forward to Getting to Work

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support and participation we received from the community in the April 2nd municipal election. And while we were successful in our campaign, we are grateful for everyone who came out and participated in the process, regardless of how you voted. Active civic involvement is part of what allows our community to continue to grow and improve.

At the beginning of the campaign, we said that we were looking forward to engaging with the community. And we did just that. We ran a positive campaign focused on the issues that are important to Glenview, and enjoyed listening and interacting in a collaborative manner with everyone we spoke with throughout that process.

We understand, too, that although Glenview residents seem to be mostly content with the state of our community that does not mean we are complacent nor does it mean we do not have more work ahead. Particularly for the voters who did not back our slate, or residents who disagree with the board’s decisions, we need to make sure those voices continue to be heard and recognized. We have both major challenges and compelling opportunities in front of us, and it will be important to work together going forward.

We encourage all residents to contact us directly with questions, concerns, or simply to discuss what’s on your mind. Or come to meetings and speak to the issues that are important to you. As part of the feedback we received during the campaign, the Village Board will also be implementing regular “Coffee with the Council” outreach sessions to continue looking for ways to engage directly with the community. The first event is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th from 8am to 10am at Panera Bread, 2512 Waukegan Rd. Watch for more details to come.

We are honored to have received the support of the community and we look forward to getting back to work in a thoughtful, collaborative and productive manner.
