Tim Sewell Announces Run For Glenview Park Board
Sewell says his campaign will focus on park investment, responsible spending, community input and animal welfare.
GLENVIEW, IL — Glenview resident Tim Sewell has announced his candidacy for park district commissioner, outlining priorities that include investing in parks, responsible spending, greater community involvement and animal welfare.
Three seats on the seven-member Glenview Park District Board of Commissioners will be filled in the April 6, 2027, consolidated election. Commissioners serve unpaid six-year terms, according to the district.
"Our parks, facilities and recreational programs are an important part of what makes Glenview such a special place to live and raise a family," Sewell said in his campaign announcement. "I'm running to help protect that legacy while making sure residents have a strong voice in the decisions that will shape the future of our Park District."

Sewell identified four campaign priorities:
- Park investment: Preserving and investing in parks, facilities and recreational programs.
- Responsible spending: Emphasizing budgeting, long-term planning and accountability.
- Community involvement: Making district decisions transparent and accessible while giving residents a voice.
- Animal welfare: Supporting animal-care policies that reflect compassion, responsibility and respect for animals in the district's care.
As part of the campaign, Sewell plans to launch "26 Parks in 26 Weeks," visiting parks, meeting residents and gathering feedback about facilities and programs.

"This campaign isn't just about asking people for their vote. It’s about listening," Sewell said. "I want to hear directly from the people who use our parks, facilities and programs — what they value, what they want to protect and what they believe we can do better."
His announcement describes longstanding family ties to Glenview and its recreational programs.
The park district is a separate governing body from the Village of Glenview, with commissioners elected by voters residing within district boundaries.
According to the district's candidate information notice, nominating petitions must include at least 148 signatures from qualified voters. The filing period runs Nov. 16–23 at the district's administration building, 1930 Prairie St.
