Township Partners With Glenview To Fund Camps For Students In Need
The Northfield Township Board of Trustees recently approved a $100,000 agreement.
GLENVIEW, IL — It's almost time for summer camp and a local partnership will help students in need. The Northfield Township Board of Trustees recently approved a $100,000 agreement for the provision of services between Northfield Township and the Glenview Park Foundation to fund summer camp.
According to a news release, Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 and Glenview Park District staff collaboratively worked to develop a summer program partnership in 2022. The goal of this partnership was to "provide summer camp programming to students who qualify for supplemental summer services based on academic and social-emotional needs, and housing insecurity."
Federal funding utilized last year, though, wasn't available in 2023. With that, the Glenview organizations were looking for a new partner and found the Northfield Township goverment.
