26 Total Coronavirus Deaths Confirmed: Voice of the Village

GLENVIEW, IL — In its most recent e-newsletter, the Village of Glenview updated residents on the latest COVID-19 information among other things. Here are some excerpts from the message that went out Tuesday.

COVID-19 UPDATE

The state of Illinois Tuesday reported 4,014 additional COVID-19 cases and 144 more deaths, bringing the total cases to 83,021 and total deaths to 3,601. This is the state's highest one-day total of new infections to date, and comes after 29,266 tests were conducted.

Today, the Cook County Department of Public Health reported a total of 21,280 cases of confirmed COVID-19 and 881 deaths in suburban Cook County. The number of reported cases in the Village of Glenview is now 343 and the Cook County Medical Examiner reports 26 total deaths in Glenview due to COVID-19.

All numbers displayed are provisional and subject to change. Data for some variables may be incomplete as cases are being investigated.

HOSPITAL INFORMATION

Illinois hospitals have begun receiving $75 million in new stability payments to help fight COVID-19, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) announced today. The funds will help hospitals continue to provide essential COVID-19 services to their communities in the coming weeks and months.

NorthShore University HealthSystem (operator of Glenbrook Hospital)
If you suspect you may have COVID-19, you can call (847) HEALTH9 (847-432-5849) and talk to a NorthShore University HealthSystem clinical expert. If you are already a NorthShore patient, you can log onto NorthShore Connect to be screened. If you are not a NorthShore patient, you can enroll in NorthShore Connect, and use the COVID-19 E-Visit. Click on the “sign up now” button and follow the instructions.

COMMUTER INFORMATION

Pace
Beginning Monday, May 18, Pace will temporarily suspend service on 15 routes and modify service on another 21 routes due low ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic. Route modifications in the NWMC service territory are as follows:

  • Suspension of all service on Routes 241, 320, 327, 355, 372, 566, 573, 608, 610, 611, 616, 696, 757, 877, and 888.
  • Reduction/modification of service on Routes 302, 311, 314, 319, 332, 356, 357, 379, 383, 384, 386, 504, 507, 561, 564, 569, 604, 850, 851, 855, and Pulse Milwaukee Line.

As of May 18, COVID-19 will have affected service on 100 Pace fixed routes. To stay informed on additional service changes, subscribe to text or email alerts for specific routes on Pace's web site. Pace has also developed a COVID-19 Response web page dedicated to keeping riders informed on the topic.

Amtrak
Amtrak is requiring all riders to wear face coverings.
