Deerfield’s Congregation BJBE Hosts Interfaith Memorial and Thanksgiving Service
BJBE Senior Rabbi Karen Kedar and honored guest, Mayor Harriet Rosenthal were joined by local Clergy of various denominations who gathered together as one community of many faiths in solidarity with those who are suffering because of the atrocities committed in France and around the globe. Together we stand against acts of terror by lifting the light of hope and fellowship. The service was shared by hundreds, as local clergy of all faiths lead the assembledged in a Memorial and Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Congregation BJBE, 1201 Lake Cook Rd, Deerfield, IL 60015,
The public was invited to observe and celebrate Unity, Hope and Peace in support of the Deerfield and Highland Park Food Pantries by bringing in non-perishable food items and/or a monetary gift. In addition to an evening committed to words of love and understanding, the Deerfield High School Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Ron Velleuer, filled the hall with music. There was also an interfaith choir – representatives from the various houses of worship raised their voices together in song.
