Westbrook Comes in 2nd in State in Chess

Both the Glenview elementary school's first and second grade teams placed second at the state chess tournament earlier this month.

GLENVIEW, IL - Westbrook Elementary School took home second place overall in both first grade and second grate at the Illinois State Chess Tournament earlier this month in Naperville.

Glenview community members and former national chess champions Gauri Manoj and his brother Arjun Manoj serve as coaches of the team, according to a news release from the school.

The team is sponsored by the PTA.
