Willow Road Project Nearing Completion

The two-year long project to widen Willow Road from two to four lanes is expected to enter its third and final stage this month with all four newly constructed lanes operating for the first time.

An Illinois Department of Transportation spokesperson said the remaining concrete work includes inner curbs and gutters - which are already 50 percent complete from west to east, according to the Winnetka Talk.

The $27 million project encompasses an area from Waukegan Road east to the Edens Expressway.
