Wireless Water Meter Plan Amended in Glenview
Wireless meters to be installed in six segments over next 11 months.

The village of Glenview will have a new wireless water meter system beginning this year.
A new deal has been reached between the village and the companies undertaking installation of the pending wireless water meter system to amend the contracts, according to the Glenview Announcements.
Reported problems with wireless water meters in Aurora have caused Glenview and other suburbs to revamp initial plans.

The plan in Glenview now calls for Sensus to replace about 1,500 “iPerl” water meters installed over the last three years and replace the village’s existing stock for free.
In addition, HD Supply Waterworks, the meters’ distributor, will eliminate the first year’s software as a service fee, saving Glenview $29,250.

“This is a significant improvement,” Village President Jim Patterson said.
Water meter replacement will begin this month and last through next July. The project to replace them all will be divided into six sections. Residents will be notified one week before work begins.
