Witnesses Of Crash That Killed Glenview Teen Sought: Police
A second vigil at the site where Marko Niketic was killed is planned Wednesday night and will close the street.
GLENVIEW, IL — An investigation continues into the weekend death of Glenview teenager Marko Niketic and police are seeking the public's help. The 17-year-old died Sunday as a result of injuries he had sustained from a car crash.
Police are looking for assistance in their investigation from any witnesses to the traffic crash that occurred at 11:08 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue, or from anyone that was on scene immediately after the accident. Contact the Glenview Police Tip Line at 847-901-6055.

Glenview police announced on social media they will be closing East Lake Avenue Wednesday night as they had Tuesday night for a planned vigil for Niketic. The road will be closed in both directions between Sunset Ridge Road and Wagner Road beginning at 6:30 p.m. Police are asking motorists to use alternate routes. Glenview Road and Winnetka Road are available detours, according to police.
Services for Niketic are being handled by Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, out of Chicago. According to an obituary posted on their website, a visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 32377 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. An Opelo (funeral service) will follow at 11 am. Interment will be at Saint Sava Monastery Cemetery in Libertyville.
