Woman Shot, Killed At Motel 6 In Glenview: Police

A person of interest was taken into custody shortly following the Sunday morning incident, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — A 27-year-old Chicago woman died Sunday as the result of gunshot wounds she sustained during an early morning incident at Motel 6, 1535 Milwaukee Ave. Aliyaha Frierson was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders attempted life-saving measures.

According to police, a person of interest was taken into custody without incident shortly after police arrived at around 5:12 a.m. A firearm was recovered. Police believe this to be an isolated incident with no known threat to the public.

Glenview police are being assisted in the investigation by the North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Frierson was pronounced dead at 5:55 a.m., according to the medical examiner.
