1 Dead After Shots Fired At Home In Round Lake Beach: Police
Authorities say it appears the shots were fired from outside the home. A 30-year-old man was hit by a bullet and later died.
ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — A 30-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Round Lake Beach early Thursday.
Officers were called to the 400 block of Meadow Green Lane in Round Lake Beach at about 4:20 a.m. Thursday for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found shell casings outside the home.
"It appears the shots were fired from outside toward the home," according to Lake County Sheriff's Office deputy chief Christopher Covelli. He said police could not say at this time how many shell casings were recovered.

Police did say the incident appeared to be a "targeted shooting."
The man was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead. The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting the Round Lake Beach Police Department with the investigation.
