LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash near Antioch as Ann Kennedy, 82, of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The collision happened at about 10:45 a.m. when a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox headed west on Route 173 near Peterson Road drove into the eastbound lanes of traffic and was struck head-on by an eastbound 2007 Volvo semi. The semi, which was driven by a 50-year-old man from Ontario, Canada, was pulling a 53-inch trailer, and swerved prior to the crash but the two vehicles still collided, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
A 2002 Toyota Celica headed west on Route 173 in unincorporated Antioch then rear-ended the Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
